![]() Unfortunately, with the recent changes and lay-offs their after-purchase service has gone downhill. I have been a long time Rad Power Bikes fan. I truly wouldn't wish this buying experience on my worst enemy. Every excuse under the sun for non delivery. Radpower are a total disgrace and a bunch of liars too boot. 25th Jan update I am still waiting for my fenders, that is three months, over winter, when I really needed them. Nothing but a happy clappy, world class customer con job. Sick of it already, going to sell it or unrestrict, I've already written the money off. The bike basically isn't fit for purpose if you live somewhere hilly. I do cycle touring and I'm pretty fit but even I was sweating getting it up a hill with full power assist and throttle. I'm going to look at unrestricting it, it's almost useless as it comes. It doesn't have the power to get it up hills in the UK/EU mode, the bike itself is too heavy for the power. Anyone buying this for an easy ride should think again, it still requires a LOT of work go get it up a steep hill, to the point where I was thinking about getting off and pushing. Update - Having ridden the Radrunner for a week I have to say I'm deeply underwhelmed. I wouldn't touch Radpower bikes again, not in a million years. Hey Mike, on the off chance you come to trustpilot to see what the people you rip off say about you - stop selling bikes you can't deliver until you can catch up on old orders. Mike Radenbaugh the owner of Radpower bikes appears to be nothing but a cheap conman. What should have been an enjoyable experience has become a total pain. I am still waiting on the fenders even though they are saying on their website they are in stock. I have bought a Radrunner which took 2 months to arrive and only did so when I threatened to cancel the order. This is a company that just tells you what you want to hear whilst taking your money then makes a thousand excuses for non delivery. I'm very disappointed in Rad Power Bikes and will no longer purchase them nor recommend them to friends. The battery works after replacing the fuse, but there is no way to tell the charge from the battery display. There is no way to see where that cable is since its buried under blue plastic. In cutting the plastic, I accidentally cut the ribbon cable going to the display. Of course doing this voids the warrantee. You need to pry the cover from part of the battery, cut a slit in the plastic wrapping that looks deliberately placed there to thwart repair and fish around to grab the fuse with a needle nose pliers. When I visited recently I took a look and found a video that shows how to replace the fuse. As if that wasn't bad enough, they didn't have them in stock for months!! He ended up buying a used one on eBay just so he could ride his new very expensive bike. No biggie except that the battery is designed such that the fuse cannot be replaced and you need to buy a new battery for $600. He called support and they told him its likely that the fuse blew. My brother bought the Rad Rover 6 on my recommendation (embarrassing) and his battery just stopped charging. My second issue is the Rad Rover 6 battery. Since its so fragile, they should make the display easily removable so you can take it off and keep it inside the car. I'm still waiting for the replacement to ship. It still got wet and another display died. Next time I took my bike on the road, I covered the display in 2 layers of plastic and rubber bands. This component is not built to be fixable. I tried opening it up but could not get inside and get the water out. What kind of "Rad Rover" can't get a little wet? I tried drying the display out but nothing I did could get the water out (including hair dryers and sitting in a bag of rice etc.). My wife also has a Rad Rover with a working display so I swapped the display and quickly determined that the display was in fact ruined. The display got wet and the whole bike stopped working. ![]() When bringing my bike on the road on a bike rack, I drove into some rain. My expectation is that with a name like Rad Rover 5 and big knobby tires, this should be a bike that can handle the elements. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. ![]() It is fun to ride and seems to be built well. Planned obsolescenceĪt first I really liked the bike. ![]()
